Southern, central CO still celebrates July 24 in grand style. For three days, the small towns of Manassa, La Jara (where I was born - population 1,200) and Sanford (where my dad grew up, population - 600) are consumed with parades - including spiritual and secular floats, rodeos, carnival rides, and amazing food. Peter and I drove out for nearly a week long stay. It was great to reconnect with family on both sides of the family (Mom and Dad's). My cousin Leann had worked on a YW float two weeks before, proudly featured here - "Sweet is the work." Also featured is my brother-in-law Dave, comfortably observing the parade in daughter Alyssa's chair (age 3), and me with Leann & mis padres in line for Manassa's famous hamburgers.

I love that float! I am so glad you got to see your side of the family. When living in Utah, we were surrounded by Matt's family. I loved that but it made me homesick. Now the roles are reversed, HA! Good for you, Love.
Lets hook up. We gotta have you over for a game night.
I think that you are quickly becoming everyone's favorite aunt. :)
What fun, I wish we were there!
I was talking about Weston going to school. :)
Alison, it was fun to look at your blog. We're not very blog savey, but we can't find a place to just send you an email, so I hope this comment works. We can't find a way to get into Giorgia Romano's blog. Do you have just a plain old email address for her? Thanks so much. Miriam Clegg
Hi Sister Clegg! Its great to hear from you. Giorgia and I were hoping to reconnect with you and Pres. Clegg; looks like we were successful! Her email address is giorgiusa@hotmail.com, and she only checks it every so often. My email address is allisonrnelson@gmail.com. I have a very cool missionary experience that happened recently in Omaha and Italy - email me and we'll catch up!
I can tell you are livin the dream. Play on girlfriend and get that thesis done. I didn't have to do a thesis--I did a project. It was a joke! I am jealous! I would have loved a more challenging masters. Such an insult to my profession! The Twilight series is a controversial one in the Mormon world. But you know me, I'm a rebel. :) jennifer
